One of Neil's earliest achievements was the mobilization of over 6000 volunteers under the National Volunteer Centre, a groundbreaking initiative
he spearheaded with invaluable support from the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation. Inspired by his participation in the International Association for Volunteer Effort, Neil recognized the need to establish a national volunteer center in Fiji, laying the
foundation for impactful community engagement and empowerment which later formed the Foundation for Vodafone World of Difference program
In 2010, Neil assumed the pivotal role of managing 36 World of Difference candidates, marking the inception of the program in Fiji. As a global flagship initiative of the Vodafone Group Foundation UK, the World of Difference program aims to empower individuals to effect positive change within their communities. Neil's visionary leadership also led to the establishment of the Philanthropy Pacific Network, an innovative alliance that unites corporate entities in the shared mission of creating lasting impact through strategic philanthropy and collaborative giving.
Under Neil's dynamic leadership, RPW has experienced exponential growth and garnered widespread recognition for its transformative impact on communities across Fiji. From a modest team of four, RPW has expanded to encompass fourteen dedicated staff members, enabling the organization to implement sustainable projects, rigorously monitor their effectiveness, and provide essential training to empower local communities. Through strategic partnerships with bilateral and multiple donors, including esteemed entities such as the Fiji Water Foundation, Vaiwai, the European Union, and MFAT, RPW has significantly enhanced its capacity to address pressing community needs and contribute meaningfully to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals.
Neil's visionary leadership extends beyond conventional water hygiene and sanitation projects, as RPW under his stewardship has embraced a holistic approach to community development. Recognizing the urgent need to address climate change and bolster community resilience, Neil has spearheaded initiatives aimed at integrating environmental sustainability into the fabric of RPW's projects. By fostering effective management of climate change and promoting holistic community development, RPW, under Neil's guidance, has emerged as a trailblazer in the realm of sustainable development, catalyzing positive change and empowering communities to thrive amidst evolving challenges.
