VitiKart is an online retail service based in Fiji that is owned by Vodafone Fiji Pte Ltd. Launched in 2020, it is made up of both large & small businesses in Fiji that offers products to online buyers. The platform comprises of smartphone applications for both iOS and Android and also a web-based solution www.vitikart.com.fj and provides an online marketing space for large & small businesses to sell to customers all over the Fiji Islands. VitiKart has drawn comparison to AliExpress & Amazon as sellers are independent and use the platform to offer products to buyers.
VitiKart may further expand as a consumer-to-consumer buying and selling portal in time to come, as currently it is limited to business-to-consumer services. The platform allows only pre-approved/pre-authorized sellers to sell products on this platform to registered buyers and the platform is currently available only in the English language. Customers outside of the country boundaries could use the service and purchase items on sale to be delivered locally across Fiji.
VitiKart is different from Amazon because it acts only as an e-commerce platform and does not sell products directly to consumers. Vodafone Fiji Limited itself uses the platform to sell various products to online buyers. VitiKart is primarily aimed at Fijian buyers and the Fijian diaspora living overseas.
