Vodafone Fiji is excited to announce the implementation of the ‘I Recycle’ program at its head office in Tamavua, in partnership with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited and Pacific Recycling Foundation. This dedicated initiative aims to advocate
sustainable waste management across Vodafone’s head office highlighting Vodafone's commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being. This initiative will expand its reach to every Vodafone location in Fiji.
The ‘I Recycle’ program aims to change the mindset and behaviour of the staff of Vodafone Fiji on best recycling practices, and fostering environmental stewardship. The program will ensure Vodafone Fiji actively participates in sustainable waste management, facilitating the proper collection and disposal of recyclables.
In line with Vodafone Fiji’s core value of “Our Vanua,” the program is an effort to implement sustainable and effective recycling practices to cultivate a culture of sustainability among Fijians. Dedicated to minimizing its environmental impact, this initiative focuses on recycling waste generated within office operations. It aligns with Vodafone Fiji’s Sustainability Goals, promoting sustainability among employees. Additionally, this initiative supports Vodafone’s purpose to ‘Connect for a better future,’ with a particular emphasis on ‘The Vanua’, ensuring a sustainable tomorrow
“The ‘I Recycle’ program has been brought to life in partnership with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited and Pacific Recycling Foundation, that specialise in the collection, processing, and shipment of a wide range of recyclables to overseas
partners for recycling purposes, with a track record of proven success in the Fijian market,” said Rajnesh Prasad, Acting Chief Executive Officer.
“To ensure the success of this initiative, Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited and Pacific Recycling Foundation will provide a comprehensive training on proper waste management and recycling to a group of employees known as Vodafone’s ‘Eco-Warriors’. These Eco-Warriors are employees across various departments at Vodafone Fiji and will champion the initiative by learning how to monitor and manage waste separation,” added Rajnesh Prasad, Acting Chief Executive Officer.
